Claire is a Partner at Nīewe Consulting. Claire has over 20 years of experience in management consulting, financial management and accounting-related services.  She has worked in industries as diverse as the Public Sector, Financial Services, High Tech and IT, Automotive, Energy and Engineering. In addition, her career spans the Globe, as she has provided advice and counsel to companies and organizations in countries including Canada, the USA, the UK, France, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, absorbing business knowledge and best practices along the way.  

Claire’s focus on financial management stems from her training as a professional accountant and her extensive experience working with Chief Financial Officers and their offices.  Claire has used her exposure to multiple industries and cultures to develop a breadth of expertise and experience including the review and transformation of the CFO function within organizations; the development and implementation of financial management governance structures including financial policy instruments and supporting tools; design, development, implementation and testing of internal control frameworks including internal controls over financial reporting; re-engineering of operational processes and development of continuous improvement programs, and organizational improvement including organizational and operational structure re-design, transformation and change management.

Emilie is a Partner at Nīewe Consulting, and one of Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 recipients for 2021! Over the course of her career spanning almost 20 years, she has focused on providing risk and performance management, internal audit and business transformation solutions to multiple clients in Canada, Australia, Ireland, Spain and Peru. She has worked in various industries, including public sector, financial services, construction, defence, not-for-profit and food & beverage.

Emilie specializes in providing her clients with tailored and operationally relevant advice, and has developed specific expertise in the assessment of risks and implementation of mitigation strategies; the facilitation of process and control assessments; the conduct of internal audit activities; the provision of performance and process improvement services and the implementation of business transformation and change management projects.  To do this, Emilie leverages extensive PMO expertise, strategic and analytical thinking, and expert communication skills, delivering valuable and effective results on each and every project.

Emilie is known for using innovative approaches on all her projects, helping clients to identify unique opportunities and solutions through a thorough, collaborative and pragmatic approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.


HARRY LAKE, P.Eng, MBA

Harry is a Partner at Nīewe Consulting, and brings more than 25 years of professional experience in management consulting, project management, engineering, research and operations-related services. He has worked across a diverse set of industries including Public Sector, Indigenous, Manufacturing, Telecom, High-Tech, Engineering, Utilities and Transportation sectors and has broad global experience having lived/worked in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia. In addition, Harry has significant consulting experience across all parts of the Canadian Indigenous financial and socio-economic ecosystem, and has engaged with First Nations, Inuit and Metis organizations across Canada – particularly in Canada’s northern and most remote areas.

Harry is a highly versatile business leader with strong engineering and analytic skills, and broad knowledge across a range of technologies. He has deep expertise in designing new operations/organizations, improving organization efficiency/effectiveness and driving major corporate transformation programs. He has significant experience designing, delivering and reviewing major transformation and information technology projects having had substantial involvement in more than 20 major IT-enabled transformation projects (with budgets ranging from $C50M to $C5B).

Julia is a Manager at Nīewe Consulting who is an accomplished management consultant with 8 years of experience working in professional services. While the majority of her experience has been spent consulting for public sector and government clients, Julia brings previous experience from across a number of industries having held roles in transportation, software, and most recently creative marketing and advertising.

Julia is skilled in all aspects of people advisory; however, her focus has been on change management, organizational design and operating model review, as well as Human Resources and Talent Management reviews.

Julia has a strong talent for identifying areas of improvement and providing solutions to support both her clients and her team. She understands and recognizes the importance of open communication and collaboration to build an environment that fosters trust, growth, learning, and a space to have fun and be innovative. 


KRISTA DAVIAULT, CPA, CA, MA

Krista is a Manager at Nīewe Consulting with over 15 years of experience in providing management consulting, financial management, and accounting-related services within both the public and private sectors. She has worked in various industries, including federal and provincial government, international organizations, not-for-profits, financial services (central banks, pension funds, investment banks, etc.), education, construction, and retail, and has provided services to organizations based in Canada, the USA, Haiti, and Switzerland.  She has a particular passion for working with organizations with a social impact mandate.

Naturally curious, Krista is a strategic thinker and recognized as an innovative problem-solver. She specializes in financial management and governance, including policy frameworks, internal control assessments, operational process reviews, risk management, financial modeling, and business transformation and change management. She is also experienced in business partnering and strategic advice. Krista is known for her collaborative, pragmatic approaches that keep both the forest and the trees in view, and finds it deeply fulfilling to work with clients to address challenges they’re facing and obtain the best possible outcome.

As a Manager at Nīewe Consulting, Nicholas is a solution-oriented thinker with years of experience working for the Government of Canada. He has gained experience working on the development and implementation of key agency initiatives, budget forecasting and management, project management, policy instrument reviews, and financial risk assessments. He has worked in various public sector organizations such as the Canada Revenue Agency and Global Affairs Canada.

Nicholas displays strong interpersonal and communication skills that he has built on over the years through his education, cooperative studies abroad and professional work. His attention to detail and ability to work individually and in a team setting is key to providing his clients with comprehensive risk assessment, strategy implementation, project management and reviews.


ALEX TOLL, CIA

Alex is an adaptive and resourceful Manager at Nīewe Consulting with experience working with international, federal, municipal, and not-for-profit organizations. He has experience in Risk and Financial Management, working on Financial Risk Indicators, Risk Culture Assessments, Grants and Contributions, Financial Management Policies and Guidelines, Costing Frameworks, Models and Data Analyses and Testing of Internal Controls. In addition, Alex helps organizations plan, meet, measure, and oversee their business objectives by supporting clients in the development and review of their Governance Processes and Tools, Strategic and Operational Plans, Logic Models and Performance Measurement Frameworks.

Alex is a skilled communicator and helps clients understand key requirements, risks, and solution-based options by presenting detailed information in concise and comprehensible manners that enables effective decision-making. His experience spans various industries, including Financial, Transportation, Healthcare and Services; providing professional services to organizations such as the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Indigenous Services Canada, the Bank of Canada, Transport Canada, Shared Services Canada, Public Health Agency of Canada, and Ottawa Public Health.

Ryan is an inventive Senior Consultant with experience working in both the public and private sectors. Tara is a diligent and analytical Consultant with a background in finance and experience in both the public and private sector. During her time with Nīewe, Tara has undertaken a wide breadth of engagements involving risk, operational and financial management. Tara’s detailed way of reason motivates her in achieving a distinct and comprehensive understanding of each client and their key requirements.

Through her work, Tara has developed a passion for creating innovative and sustainable solutions, as well as advanced in the knowledge and skills required for proficient and dependable project delivery.

Natalie is an organized and determined Consultant with a background in human relations, organizational development and change management. She has gathered experience in conflict resolution, developing communication, creating and hosting workshops, designing and collecting data of needs assessments and developing leadership skills.

Natalie’s passion for human relations, combined with her previous experiences within the public and private sectors provides her with the knowledge and understanding to work through any challenges and find solutions to complex issues. Her understanding of organizational development and change management will ensure her clients find positive and constructive solutions to challenging situations.

As Cristopher continues to expand his knowledge through an MBA program, he remains committed to leveraging academic insights and practical skills to help clients navigate through various challenges, optimizing financial, risk, and performance management solutions.

What sets him apart is his ability to connect with people effectively, a skill that has proven valuable in both his academic and professional life.

He is driven by the desire to further develop his financial acumen and create innovative solutions that make a positive impact. As Grant continues his journey, he's eager to leverage his strong interpersonal skills, academic foundation, and passion for finance to excel in the field and make a meaningful contribution.
